Picnic season is here! Celebrate with us at Blooms & Barbecue for an evening of delicious barbecue, beautiful blooms, and fun with friends.

BARBECUE

The society will provide Pulled Pork Barbecue sandwiches.
🌹Please bring a picnic themed side to share.

BLOOMS

We will have a SHOW & TELL!

🌹Please bring blooms from your garden and be prepared to tell everyone about them.

The Society will provide name cards for each bloom to take in case you are interested in growing a shared rose in your garden.

ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION

We will end the evening with our popular round table disucssion. This time we are discussing successes and failures especially in regards to dealing with Japanese Beetles and blackspot! However, if you are having other issues or are finding success with other problems, we want to hear about those too!

We look forward to seeing you there!
⭐️ Our meetings are open to the public so invite others to join you!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE JUNE MEETING…

FLOWER ARRANGING WORKSHOP

By popular demand, designer Mitch Reed was back for more teaching and inspiration on floral design.

Mitch shared valuable information on flower choices, designs and using floral foam for arrangements as well as which floral foams were now biodegradable. He made a beautiful arrangement as an example for us! Armed with his tips and the flowers we had brought from our gardens, we created table arrangements for a local nursing home.

It was so fun to have the opportunity to be creative while we had Mitch there to guide us!

Huge THANK YOU to Mitch for sharing his expertise with us! (See images from the 2025 FLOWER ARRANGEMENT WORKSHOP HERE.)

SAYING NO TO BLACK SPOT…
My Favorite Roses for Humid Conditions

Kimberley Dean, The Rose Geek

Without a doubt, Black Spot is one of the most frustrating challenges for rose growers, especially in warm, humid climates and Indiana is no exception! Join us VIA ZOOM from the comfort of your home on your laptop, mobile phone or tablet.

Kimberley grows more than 1600 roses without the use of chemicals in her garden, ROSE POINT, located on the Potomac River in hot, humid Zone 8a. Her extraordinary garden showcases disease-resistant rose varieties, companion plantings, great design elements and sustainable gardening practices. Rose Point also serves as a test site for new rose varieties.

Whether you’re a seasoned rosarian or just beginning your rose-growing journey, you don’t want to miss this inspirational and practical presentation.

Everyone is welcome. Please invite others to join you and share this event information on your social networks. (See social media ad image below.)
